Sore, Tired, but Safely Arrived

/ Location: London, UK
Alrighty, friends! (and family, and whoever.) We made it! Alive and- well, maybe not so well, to be completely honest with you. I mean, it's not all bad, and I think it's just the significant lack of sleep talking, but that wasn't my best travel day ever.

After battling zero-legroom seats on the airplane, little to no sleep, the crowded and stuffy London Underground, and getting ever so slightly lost on the way to our hostel, we made it. Stretching our legs after the long flight (made longer due to fog- thanks, London, love you too.), we stood around the luggage carousel to get our backpacks and headed out. Only to find out approximately five minutes later that carrying 15kg on your back isn't really the nicest thing. It's a bit extremely painful. But my hope is that we'll strengthen our backs and not break them and it'll just get easier! Fingers crossed!

All in all though, can't complain. Even the hostel with its labyrinthine hallways and rooms to get to the actual dorms (Eurokidz from spring break- think "The Hand Hotel" hehe), has it's charms. Currently sitting in the chill out room, mooching off their (albeit slow) wifi and listening to the white noise of various languages being spoken around us. (And of course slightly listening in to other people's interesting conversations. We're not creepy, we swear.) Even the lack of sleep has an upside- we'll actually be able to get to sleep on proper London time tonight.

Unbelievably enough, neither of us took one photo today, so I have nothing to share in that respect, but I think tomorrow's explorations around the city will bode some lovely photographs for your eyes to see.

And so, all in all day 1 leaves us:
Tired and bedraggled, sweaty beyond belief, sleep deprived, slightly ill feeling, and incredibly sore in the backs. But also incredibly excited for what is to come and excited to see how things can go up from here (because, really, they can only go up)!

Talk to you folks in a couple of days.

(P.S. If anyone has any advice on how to ease the pain and strain from our backpacks - i.e. proper fit, weight distribution, etc, that would be greatly welcomed.)
